MAtthew Quinton
PERSONAL TRAVEL ADVISOR
Matt spent three months backpacking through Turkey, Jordan and Egypt, taking in amazing sites and learning about the history and culture of each place. He describes this experience as one of the most amazing of his life. “I met great people and experienced hospitality I have not seen anywhere else in the world”.
One of his most inspirational travel moments was staying in and travelling through the slums and shantytowns of South Africa. “It amazed me to see how people with absolutely nothing, who live in a tin shack and have every reason to be bitter, have the most positive and happy attitudes and are willing to share what little they have with anyone. I found it very inspiring”.
We view all of our clients’ vacations as special, but sometimes we are able to assist in making a particularly extraordinary dream come true. A long-term client of Matt’s was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to go on one last vacation with her husband and her 16-year-old daughter. He booked the family on an amazing trip to the Galapagos Islands, as it had always been a dream of hers to go there, yet she had always put it off. “The look on her face when she came back was priceless”.
Matt loves the unknown about travel, experiencing something different and seeing something new, from standing at the foot of the Pyramids in the Middle East and being amazed that they were ten times the size of anything he had ever imagined them to be to sampling deep fried scorpions in Beijing, “tasty little bugs”.
He loves to capture all his travel moments with his camera. His last seven-day trip to Mexico resulted in 3987 photos, approximately 570 per day. Can you say shutterbug?
While at home in Vancouver, Matt enjoys going to the movies, cooking, swimming, spending time with friends and family and of course…travelling!
He’s attended the opening of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 as well as sat front row for Madonna’s concert tour! “Life is a great big canvas and you should throw all the paint on it you can!”
